Defend democracy by helping your fellow citizens register to vote!

Helping the general public or high school students register to vote requires official training.

1. Watch the online training from the Virginia Department of Elections. Certification expires on June 30th each year. Online training must be retaken annually after July 1st.

2. Once you have watched the ELECT certified training video, submit the voter registration application request and affidavit. Request 200 voter registration forms to be used by league members to register new voters.

3. We will have LWVFA specific volunteer voter registration training by Zoom on April 23 and April 28. You can sign up for one of these sessions here. You may also watch our most recent (August 2023) training on prerecorded video here: YouTube.

In order to work inside high schools, volunteers must also be:

4. A current member of the League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area.

5. Fully vaccinated and boosted.

6. Wearing a mask is optional but recommended at all times inside school buildings. (N95 or KN95 masks are best)
