The League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area

We are a nonpartisan political organization. We encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in government, work to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy.

• We discuss and study issues of local, national, state, and regional concern and inform ourselves, legislators, and the general public about these issues.

• We help people register to vote.

• We develop nonpartisan educational materials and sponsor candidate forums to help people be prepared to vote.

• We testify at legislative and administrative hearings to ensure citizen input in policy making decisions.
