Defend democracy by helping your fellow citizens register to vote!
Helping the general public or high school students register to vote requires official training.
1. Watch the online training from the Virginia Department of Elections. Certification expires on June 30th each year. Online training must be retaken annually after July 1st.
2. Once you have watched the ELECT certified training video, submit the voter registration application request and affidavit. Request 200 voter registration forms to be used by league members to register new voters.
3. We provide LWVFA specific volunteer voter registration training by Zoom. You can sign up for one of these sessions as they are scheduled and posted on the Volunteer Calendar. Check the Volunteer Calendar here. You may also watch our most recent (August 2024) training on prerecorded video here: YouTube.
In order to work inside high schools, volunteers must also be:
4. A current member of the League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area.
5. Fully vaccinated and boosted.
