Presidential elections are determined by the Electoral College, NOT by the popular vote. Attend the General Meeting to hear how the Electoral College came to be, changes that have been made over the years, and the impact of the Electoral College on presidential elections.

December Unit Meetings

In December, we will discuss the latest LWV-Virginia study, The Inalienable Right to Vote. A summary of the study is included in the November VOTER to ensure that members will have plenty of time to read and think about it carefully prior to the December 7th briefing and the December unit meetings. Since this study contains several topics related to voting, it is important to have a prepared discussion leader and a member who is willing to be a recorder.
